When a card is hard

About it

Sometimes the card is sad, angry or lonely, and it is about something real. You do not have to fix it in the game. "Thank you for telling me" is a complete answer for now.

Then ask one question with room in it: "Do you want to tell me more, or just have me know?" Some children want to talk; some only wanted to be seen. Both are fine.

If a hard card keeps coming up day after day, that is worth noticing outside the game too — a quiet word later, and other grown-ups who know your child.

One question

Your child turns over "sad" and goes quiet. What is a good first reply?

Say it back
A lesson is kept once you've answered the question and written at least 8 words. Nobody grades it; it stays on this device.
