← Together at the Table · Lesson 1 of 3

One card each

About it

The game is small. Each of you picks, in secret, the feeling that is closest to how you are right now. Then each of you guesses the other's. Then you both turn your cards over at the same moment.

Turning over together matters. Nobody has to go first, and nobody is reading the other person's answer before they commit to their own. It is the same reason a teacher asks for hands up after a count of three.

Nine cards are enough: excited, proud, okay, tired, worried, sad, angry, lonely and embarrassed. A short list a child can hold in their head beats a long one they have to search.

One question

Why do both people turn their cards over at the same moment?

Say it back
A lesson is kept once you've answered the question and written at least 8 words. Nobody grades it; it stays on this device.
