← Money Decisions, Out Loud · Lesson 3 of 3
Let them make the next call
After you have thought aloud a few times, hand over a small real decision: which of two phone plans, how to spend a birthday gift, whether a sale is really a saving.
Ask them to think it out loud the way you did. Ask questions rather than correcting: "What does it cost over a year?" "What are you giving up?" Let a small mistake stand if it is cheap; it teaches more than a lecture.
Your teenager picks the plan with a lower monthly price but a big joining fee. What do you say first?
A lesson is kept once you've answered the question and written at least 8 words. Nobody grades it; it stays on this device.
