Say it back

When they finish, say back what you heard in a sentence or two, in your own words. "So you walked to school past the river, and the shop on the corner sold one kind of sweet."

Saying it back does two things. The other person hears that you were listening, and they get to correct you, which often brings out more.

Do not add a lesson ("so you had it harder than us"). Say back what they said, not what you think it means.

One question

Which is the best way to say back "I left school at fourteen to work in my uncle's shop"?

Say it back
A lesson is kept once you've answered the question and written at least 8 words. Nobody grades it; it stays on this device.
