← Drawing, Again · Lesson 1 of 5

Draw it once

About it

Put a kettle, a mug or a shoe on the table in front of you. Sit where you can see all of it. Take a pencil and any paper.

Draw it for five minutes. Do not fix anything and do not throw it away. Write the date in the corner and put the drawing somewhere safe, face down.

This drawing is not a test. It is the "before". In the last lesson you will draw the same thing from the same chair, and put the two side by side.

The before-and-after sheet

If you like, print this sheet and make your first drawing in the left box. You will use the right box in the last lesson. Plain paper works just as well.

One question

Why draw the object before learning anything?

Say it back
A lesson is kept once you've answered the question and written at least 8 words. Nobody grades it; it stays on this device.
