The Understudy

For once, the teenager is the teacher. They choose three things to teach you, one a week, and you learn them the way a beginner does. You play to win and you lose properly. At the end, a card on the fridge says what you were taught.

The rules

  1. The teacher picks the lessons. The grown-up does not choose easier ones.
  2. Play to win, and lose properly. No letting them win, no pretending to be worse.
  3. Ask questions the way a beginner does. Do not explain back what you already know.
  4. Three lessons, one a week. Each ends when the teacher says it is done.
  5. At the end, the grown-up says back one thing they learned, in their own words.

Stuck for a lesson? A game you play and I have never played · One thing on my phone I wish you knew how to do · A song, a dance step or a trick · How to cook one thing I make.

For the fridge

The teacher taught the grown-up three things.
