The Circle at Our Table
Six short lessons on the back-and-forth of play with a young child: notice what they open with, answer it at their size, wait, let them close it, mend it when it breaks, and stop while it is good. Practise with another grown-up first.

Practise with another grown-up
You'll need: a cup, a spoon, or any small object.
- One of you is "the child": open with a small move, without words.
- The other answers at that size, then waits a full minute and a half in silence.
- Swap. Then talk about which part was hardest: noticing, answering small, or waiting.
- Try one circle with a child this week. Afterwards, use the Ride Home card for your own three questions.
