A House of Rooms
Three short lessons for a life-review conversation across generations: a house of rooms, one gentle question in each, listening without fixing, and nothing kept unless both of you choose.
For grown-ups, from what RootsForge teaches children at Spark & Anvil.
Draw the house
You'll need: a sheet of paper and a pencil.
- Draw a simple house together and label five rooms: kitchen, front door, garden, attic, window.
- The elder picks the first room. The younger person asks its one question.
- Listen, say back what you heard, and let either person move rooms at any time.
- At the end, decide together what, if anything, to write inside the room on the drawing.
