Water polo

For the grown-up beside a child who loves water polo.

There is no Whetstone tool or course for water polo yet, so this page is the sideline card and your child's ladder.

The sideline card

Three numbers to notice

  1. Seven players a side start in the water, one of them the goalkeeper.
  2. At top level, four periods of eight minutes of actual play: the clock stops when play stops.
  3. The goal: 3 metres wide, with the crossbar 0.90 metres above the water.

On the way home, ask: “Where in the pool did the goals come from today?”

Ask because you are curious, and let any answer stand. Print this page for a half-page card.

Numbers checked against: World Aquatics Competition Regulations (water polo)
