The sideline card

Three numbers to notice

  1. The unit price: what one gram, ounce or item costs, for comparing two packs of different sizes.
  2. Two discounts in a row multiply: 20% off, then 10% off, is 28% off, not 30%.
  3. Change counted up from the price to the money handed over.

On the way home, ask: “Which pack would you have picked, and why?”

Ask because you are curious, and let any answer stand. Print this page for a half-page card.
