Golf
For the grown-up beside a child who loves golf.
The child's own door is Golf on Spark & Anvil.
There is no Whetstone tool or course for golf yet, so this page is the sideline card and your child's ladder.
Three numbers to notice
- The hole: 108 mm (4¼ inches) across on every course played under the Rules of Golf.
- The clubs in the bag: no more than 14. Which one a player picks says how far they think the ball must go.
- The search for a lost ball: three minutes, then it counts as lost.
On the way home, ask: “Which hole today looked hardest from the tee, and why?”
Ask because you are curious, and let any answer stand. Print this page for a half-page card.
Numbers checked against: R&A Rules of Golf: Definitions (the hole); R&A Rules of Golf: Rule 4 (14 clubs); R&A Rules of Golf: Rule 18 (three-minute search)
