Go
For the grown-up beside a child who loves go.
The child's own door is Go on Spark & Anvil.
There is no Whetstone tool or course for go yet, so this page is the sideline card and your child's ladder.
Three numbers to notice
- The board: 19 lines by 19, so 361 points where a stone can go.
- Komi: White gets extra points, often 6.5 or 7.5, because Black moves first. The half point means there is almost never a tie.
- Small boards for learning: 9 by 9 and 13 by 13.
On the way home, ask: “Which part of the board did you want most, and why?”
Ask because you are curious, and let any answer stand. Print this page for a half-page card.
