Dinosaurs

For the grown-up beside a child who loves dinosaurs.

There is no Whetstone tool or course for dinosaurs yet, so this page is the sideline card and your child's ladder.

The sideline card

Three numbers to notice

  1. The dates on museum signs, in millions of years ago. Tyrannosaurus lived about 68 to 66 million years ago.
  2. Stegosaurus lived about 152 million years ago, so Tyrannosaurus lived closer in time to us than to Stegosaurus.
  3. A skeleton’s length on the sign: a Tyrannosaurus reached about 40 feet (12 metres).

On the way home, ask: “Which dinosaur would you like to have watched, and what would it be doing?”

Ask because you are curious, and let any answer stand. Print this page for a half-page card.
