Curling
For the grown-up beside a child who loves curling.
The child's own door is Curling on Spark & Anvil.
There is no Whetstone tool or course for curling yet, so this page is the sideline card and your child's ladder.
Three numbers to notice
- Each team throws 8 stones an end, two for each player.
- The house: rings 12, 8 and 4 feet across, round the button in the middle.
- Only one team scores in an end: a point for each of its stones in the house closer to the middle than the other team’s best.
On the way home, ask: “Which stone today do you think changed the end the most?”
Ask because you are curious, and let any answer stand. Print this page for a half-page card.
Numbers checked against: World Curling: The Rules of Curling (the rules PDF on this page: the sheet and the teams)
